Ultima Linux Documentation Wiki:Signatures

This page is an official policy on the Ultima Linux Documentation Wiki.
Please follow all guidelines on this page when editing other pages on this site.

Every user has a signature on this wiki, which is inserted when you type ~~~~. Signatures are most commonly used when signing discussion pages (try it out on Project talk:Signatures!) Depending on how you've customized it, your sig looks something like this: Martin Ultima (talk) 14:59, 29 April 2007 (CDT)

You may change your signature by going to Special:Preferences and editing the "Nickname" field. Use the "raw signatures" option if you want to include wiki-code, or even a template (for example, {{SUBST:User:Martin Ultima/sig}} would insert a signature stored in User:Martin Ultima/sig).

You may include almost anything in your signature, including images! (Which some wikis don't allow...) However, try not to make your sig too obnoxious, and don't put in too much code. General guidelines for signatures:

  • They should be simple and to the point, not overly flashy and obnoxious.
  • Images may be used, but preferably keep them at 12px or under.
  • Pornographic or other potentially offensive images are not tolerated!
  • Your sig is not the most important thing on here. Your edits are.

Users wanting more customization should look at their userpage.
