Ultima Linux 8.1

Ultima Linux 8.1 has been discontinued. Users are encouraged to upgrade to the latest version, Ultima Linux 8.4. Information and/or content in this article may no longer be accurate or available.

Ultima Linux 8.1 is the long-awaited next release of Ultima Linux. It has been in development since around April 2006, but has yet to see a final release.

New features for this release are support for 64-bit processors, and many other changes. A beta release was made around the end of 2006, and is actively receiving updates while work continues towards the next beta, and eventually, the final release.

As of June 7, 2007, the 8.1 final release has been canceled due to extensive development delays, and all development work will be towards Ultima Linux 8.2.
