OpenOffice.org

OpenOffice.org is a comprehensive open-source office suite, and without a doubt the largest package set included in Ultima Linux. Among its features includes a word processor, Writer; a spreadsheet, Calc; a presentations program, Impress; a vector graphics program, Draw; a database, Base; and many other programs and modules. It is probably the second most popular office suite after Microsoft Office, and is included in Ultima Linux under its very own OOO series.

The OpenOffice.org packages in Ultima Linux can read and write Microsoft Office documents¹ as well as their own OpenDocument files. In fact, OpenOffice.org frequently handles Office files better than Office itself, such as when exchanging between different program versions.
