BitTorrent is a tool for distributed (peer-to-peer) file downloads, such as Ultima Linux releases or, more controversially, multimedia files such as digital videos and MP3's. Some Ultima Linux releases are officially available on BitTorrent, such as pre-releases, although final releases are typically through FTP or available to order as a CD set.

When using BitTorrent, especially for Ultima Linux releases, it is generally recommended to keep your download window open a while after you've finished (this is called seeding). That way other users can download the file! See Wikipedia for a detailed explanation of why this is important.

NOTE: BitTorrent is included in Ultima Linux for legal, authorized downloads only (such as Ultima Linux releases). The Ultima Linux developers accept no responsibility for any other use of the BitTorrent program in Ultima Linux.
