Welcome to Überpage Headquarters

Überpage is a small but powerful Web content management system written in PHP. It is designed to provide the most important features of larger programs, but with barely half the requirements. It stores all its data in a MySQL database, and is used (among other things) to power the Ultima Linux homepage.

Überpage is an open-source program, so anyone may download and use it, absolutely free of charge. The code is licensed under the GNU General Public License version 2, which means you can even make your own new version so long as (1) you don’t call it “Überpage”, and (2) you make it freely available to others as well.

12/22/2007: Überpage-based mailing lists: We’ve uploaded a patch which lets you create a mailing list right from your Überpage site! (Another nice thing originally from KoW, which is now effectively dead.) Users can sign up from a convenient Web-based interface, and then the site admins can send messages through the standard control panel. Get it while it’s hot from the downloads page.
9/22/2007: Überpage 3.0 beta3: This is a major overhaul from the previous version. Essentially it’s been stripped down from the code in Knights of War, an online game which uses Überpage as its base code (save me the trouble of writing a new database, template, or user-management system from scratch). It also fixes a lot of bugs, adds a few new features, optimizes MySQL, and works with Opera. Upgrade.
7/1/2007: Überpage 3.0 beta2: This is a major security upgrade. It fixes the bug where spammers can go in and edit protected pages, among other things. It also is much more secure about handling admin accounts. If you use Überpage, upgrade now!
6/19/2007: Absolutely nothing!: Absolutely nothing whatsoever has happened lately. This is probably a good thing. But there’s a new Ultima Linux coming soon, so that may change things significantly.
5/19/2007: We’ve moved!: The new permanent Überpage homepage is located at http://www.ultimalinux.com/uberpage. Please update your bookmarks.

The latest release is Überpage 3.0 beta3 (September 22, 2007).

Überpage is sporadically maintained, and essentially designed to work “just well enough”™ for the developers – depending on your server and intended purpose it may or may not work at all. But it is great for small homepages such as this one, and with some hacking, integrates nicely with other programs like MediaWiki and phpBB.
